STUDENT INTERNSHIP

COMPANY:   Hino Motors Manufacturing (Industrial Truck Division of Toyota)
LOCATION:   37777 Interchange Dr. Farmington Hills, MI  48335

DATES OF INTERNSHIP:  
STARTING: ASAP
ENDING:  3-6 months
HOURS WORKED PER WEEK: 20-40
PAY RATE: $10.00-$12.00 per hour

(Specifics on hours worked in a week or length of internship will be determined by Purchasing Managers and the ideal candidate.  Candidates school schedules will be taken into consideration when the schedule is decided.)

MAJOR FOCUS:
Responsible for supporting buyers and managers in all purchasing activities related to suppliers and/or commodities to assure parts are procured that meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.  Additional support other departments by translating documents from Japanese to English.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist buyers as needed to help them conduct the following activities:

• Issue/collect request for quotes
• Create and maintain blanket Purchase Orders
• Clerical functions (filing/record keeping, etc.)
• Support other Purchasing members as required

Other duties may include:

• Collect and report some supplier financial information
• Track material movement trends
• Other projects as assigned

EDUCATION:
Coursework in Supply Chain Management
Japanese language skills highly recommended but not required

EXPERIENCE:
Some preferred by not mandatory

SKILL:    Purchasing fundamentals, math skills, Microsoft Office Software, Japanese Language

OTHER:  Ability to work well in fast paced, cross-cultural environment
