Quality Assurance Engineer
Hino Motors Manufacturing USA, Inc., a Toyota Group company, is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to work in the Quality Improvement Center at its Farmington Hills, MI location. This position will provide support to engineering, manufacturing and service to identify, evaluate, and resolve quality concerns.
JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
* Perform RCA on engine and chassis related issues.
* Provide technical support for quality related projects, as well as other projects when necessary.
* Visit manufacturing facilities, and dealers to evaluate vehicles and collect quality data.
* Write technical reports and trip evaluation reports comprehensively describing and quantifying problem conditions.
* Identify, quantify and analyze product problems of in-use vehicles
* Aid in the development of test procedures.
* Assist Engineers and Technicians in hands-on instrumentation of vehicles and engines.
* Organize and maintain vehicle test data from past and present activities.
* Assist in creating standardized test documentation, procedures and analysis methodologies for future use.
* Develop technical service bulletins and technician newsletter articles to communicate product changes and
repair information to dealers.
* Maintain an organized, clean work environment per standards.
REQUIREMENTS REQUIRED SKILLS FOR THIS QUALITY SPECIALIST POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 2 years of related work experience; or an Associate's degree
in a related field with 4 years of experience preferred.
* Extensive experience with diesel engines and diesel engine technology mandatory.
* High degree of mechanical aptitude required.
* Intermediate to expert experience with a data analysis tool or software (Microsoft Excel, Matlab or similar)
* Understanding of engineering test instrumentation and data acquisition equipment preferred.
* Possess a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) or have the ability to obtain.
* Organized, highly motivated self-starter and be able to manage multiple tasks autonomously.
* Excellent communication and analytical skills.
* Up to 50% Travel is required for this position, with possible trips to Canada (passport or enhanced license required for access
into Canada)
