Design Engineer (CATIA V5)

This position will be responsible for the design & development of vehicle systems and parts, and documents related to design changes or modifications to Hino trucks in North America.  This position will act as a liaison between the engineering, manufacturing and sales groups with regards to design development issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
* Develop drawings and all content (including photographs, illustrations and instructions) for the Technical instruction Manual.
* Create and maintain engineering documents, presentations and specifications.
* Support product engineering activities with customers (external/internal) and suppliers.
* Benchmarking activities, evaluation of competitor vehicles.
* Engineering support for the Sales Department.
* Creating sample parts to be used in research and development
* Modifying vehicles using sample parts to conduct investigations

REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: BSME or higher required

EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years in Mechanical Engineering necessary
CATIA V5 experience necessary
Ability to hand-draw parts and/or modifications to parts is preferred
Some technical training beyond college preferred
Truck chassis, Powertrain or Diesel engine experience preferred

SKILLS:
Proven communication and problem solving skills
PC skills, Excel and Powerpoint (intermediate level)
10%-20% travel required
