Hino and the Toyota Group

As a member of the Toyota Group, Hino Motors Ltd. (HML), Japan produces light-duty, medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks and buses as well as diesel engines. HML also produces Toyota-badged vehicles on commission, including Toyota's popular sport utility vehicles, the 4Runner and the FJ Cruiser, as well as Dyna trucks, and Toyoace commercial vehicles. Hino uses the Toyota Production System to achieve quality throughout its operations and gains in productivity. HML has adopted this system to offer customers the best possible products at competitive prices.

Hino's manufacturing operations are growing globally in step with the expansion of the Toyota Group. Outside of Japan, Hino has established operations in many areas including Thailand, Pakistan, Taiwan, Indonesia, and more recently the United States and Canada. In 2002, our Thailand facility launched production of axle and truck bed assemblies for the Toyota pick-up truck model line. Today, it provides support for Toyota's pick-up trucks and utility vehicles, as well as producing Hino-branded trucks. Also in 2002, our Indonesia facility began assembly of engines for vehicles manufactured locally by Toyota. In Pakistan, we provide frame and rear deck assembly for Toyota pick-up trucks. In 2004, Hino Motors Manufacturing U.S.A., Inc., (HMMUSA) began supporting the expanding Toyota brands produced in the United States. HMM procures and manufactures several components for the Toyota Group platforms. We also produce Hino branded medium and light duty commercial vehicles for distribution in North America.

In terms of overseas expansion, Hino as grown quickly over the last 10 years and continues to analyze expansion opportunities and support the Toyota Group. Hino is poised and ready to evaluate and capitalize on new business ventures around the world.
